AIPAC and Iran

Once again, AIPAC has made it easier for Americans to die defending their interpretation of Israeli interests.

As you no doubt know, Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats had wanted to include language in a bill that would prohibit Bush from initiating an attack on Iran without congressional approval. AIPAC lobbied to have the language stripped from the bill. Now, Bush can attack Iran at will.

Since he is a lame duck president stuck with an unpopular war in Iraq, and conscious of his legacy, there seems to be a good chance that he will attack Iran in a last-ditch effort to shore up his fading reputation and leave the White House in a blaze of glory.
